CHARLOTTE, NC [USA] The number three has a new home for the upcoming 2023 NASCAR season. Richard Childress, owner of Richard Childress Racing told Sirius XM radio host Dave Moody on Wednesday he has loaned the number three made famous by legendary driver Dale Earnhardt to Toyota driver Bubba Wallace for 2023. When Richard was asked why this change came about, he mentioned “Dale would have really liked Bubba” Childress also mentioned how much Wallace reminds of of Earnhardt. “the way he drives, his demeanor.. it’s like seeing Dale out there on the track.”
Bubba Wallace hopes the new number will give some luck this season. So far the 23XI driver has completed two full seasons for the new team with a win in 2021 at Talladega and last fall at Kansas in 2022.
