A man from Bolton who made a number of suicide attempts eventually hung himself in Brixton prison in Britain, where he was facing life imprisonment for the rape of his daughter. James Drinkwater (41) wrote suicide letters to his daughter saying how sorry he was before taking his own life in his jail cell. James Drinkwater previously was jailed for nine years for the rape of a 32-year-old woman. His widow, Ava Drinkwater says she met James four months after his release from another rape sentence in 1996. She told police he had tried to hang himself twice at their home.
