Early this morning, Auburn University AD Allen Greene announced that the board of trustees have begun the process of buying out the remaining contract of current head coach Gus Malzahn. Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele will serve as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2020 season. The search has apparently already began for a successor, and the early leading candidates to replace him include Steele, Jim Harbaugh, former head coach Gene Chizik, and former FSU head coach Willie Taggart.
