Don Estridge High Tech Middle School employee tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at Don Estridge High Tech Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19, the school district says.

According to the Palm Beach County School District, all contact tracing protocols are presently being followed, and anyone who was in close proximity to this person will be notified.

Parents who are not notified by the school district do not have children who were directly exposed to the employee who has tested positive, the school’s principal said in a statement released to parents today.

The District has also conducted enhanced cleaning of the limited areas on campus in which this person spent time.

Classes in Palm Beach County resumed in person on Monday, Sept. 21 and several schools in the county have already reported COVID-19 cases.

The school district launched a dashboard to help trace the number of COVID-19 cases.

According to the data on the district’s dashboard, there are 17 total confirmed cases. That number likely still does not reflect the new employee case since the school district has just confirmed it today.
