ATSG the parent company of ABX Air, AMES maintenance, ATI airways, and recently closed on purchase of Omni Air International. Has signed a letter of agreement to purchase Kalitta airways of Ypsilanti Michigan. The purchase includes Kalitta Air’s aircraft, and it’s MRO Kalitta Maintenance in Oscoda Michigan. ATSG reports that there are many similarities between their current operations with it’s (3) airlines, and the acquisition of Kalitta Air. With ATSG being the largest owner and operator of 767 cargo aircraft through its subsidiaries. And Kalitta Air’s recent acquisition of 19 767 airframes for conversion to freighter aircraft. Also ATSG and Kalitta Air are subcontractors for DHL providing ASMI aircraft including 767-200, 767-300, and 747-400 freighter aircraft and ground support. ATSG also stated that Kalitta’s MRO in Oscoda, MI expands their capability to maintain their large fleet of aircraft along with their AMES facility in Wilmington, OH. And recent acquisition of Pemco in Tampa, FL. It is expected the addition of Kalitta Air and it’s assets will increase ATSG annual revenue by 29%.
